Children’s Pilgrimage to Jiba 2010
Through 26th July to 4th August, ‘Children’s Pilgrimage to Jiba 2010’ was held magnificently at the Home of the Parent, and around 230,000 people returned to Jiba not only from within Japan, but also from all around the world, and enjoyed the summer in Jiba.
During this period, a total of 10 people from the Oceania region returned to Jiba to participate in several activities and programs such as ‘Oyasato Seminar’, ‘Children’s Pilgrimage to Jiba’, and ‘Overseas Boys & Girls Hinokishin Corps’. They also attended the July Monthly Service of Church Headquarters as well as visited to worship at their own churches. Furthermore, they attended the ‘Welcome Party for Overseas Followers’ sponsored by the Overseas Department, and had a delightful time together.
During the period, Mr. Masanao Adachi (Kawaramachi/Tanshutsu), the TOC head’s son, completed the Oyasato Seminar English Course III, while three children of Yoboku and followers in the region participated in the Overseas Boys & Girls Hinokishin Corps (Please refer to Pages 13 to 16), and had unforgettable experiences together at the Home of the Parent.
Croquettes Donation to Japanese Language School’s Charity Bazaar
On 31st July the annual charity bazaar was splendidly held at the Japanese Language Supplementary School of Brisbane. As usual, the Oceania Centre made 300 croquettes, providing 200 of them at a stall at the bazaar, and gained popularity to be quickly sold out. Thank you to those who cooked them for your sincere efforts and contribution.
The Centre donated all the day’s takings as well as material cost to support a welfare facility through the school.
